River Mountain Action Rafting charters luxury buses that operate every
FRIDAY during the rafting season. There are three regular departure points:
ANAHEIM
Check In: 12:45 PM
Depart: 1:00 PM
(Returns approx. 11:00 PM)

WEST L.A.
Check In: 1:45 PM
Depart: 2:00 PM
(Returns approx. 10:00 PM)
|
VALENCIA
Check In: 3:00 PM
Depart: 3:15 PM
(Returns approx. 9:30PM)

IF YOU DID MISS THE BUS, ALL IS NOT LOST!
Call (800) 762-7238 to see if the bus has been delayed. If the 800 number goes to voicemail, Don't leave a message: Call 310-968-2087 to check on possible delays. If the bus is on schedule check which departure points are being used this trip. If the office is closed go to the next departure point. If that doesn’t work for you, go to the Carl’s Jr at Kettleman Junction. Ask their guests if they can guide you to the RMA bus.
“DESPERATION” ROUTE INSTRUCTIONS:
Anaheim to Camp = 460 mi. (Miles are approximate)
From ANAHEIM to WEST L.A.:
Go N on State College; W on 91; N on 605; W on105; N on 405; Use Jefferson Blvd. exit and follow map 2.
From WEST L.A. to VALENCIA:
Go N on 405; N on I-5; Take Calgrove exit; W under Freeway and follow Map 3.
From VALENCIA to KETTLEMAN:
N on I-5; (50 mi. to I-5/US-99 split) Use Right Lane, cont. on I-5; (51 miles to Hwy 41) Use Kettleman exit; R at “STOP”; L at Signal; Carl’s Jr. is on R. (Be sure to find the RMA bus. There may be several buses at Kettleman). Make arrangements to pay to park your car for security reasons.
From KETTLEMAN to RMA CAMP:
N on I-5; (135 mi. to I-5 / I-580 split) R Lane, cont on I-5 (65 mi. to I-5 / I-80 split) R Lane, follow signs to South Lake Tahoe; continue E on I-80; (1 mi. to I-80/I-50 split) Use LEFT Lanes; follow signs to Placerville; (35 mi. to) No Shingle Rd./Motherlode Dr. exit #37; Right at “STOP” over Fwy.; R at next"Stop" onto Shingle Springs Rd. (6 mi. to) Bear Right at Green Valley Rd.: and cross over a small, narrow bridge. Cont. over the larger bridge onto "Lotus Road". Stay on Lotus Road to the end. Right at "Stop" onto Hwy 49. (25 m.p.h. Speed Trap through Marshall State Park). Continue straightt onto New River Road when Hwy 49 swings right just as you pass the old school house on your left. Stay on the paved road and fork Left at the split. The American River Resort is at the end of the "New River Road". (about 11 miles from the freeway). Follow signs to the RMA campsite.
AS YOU CAN SEE, IT REALLY DOES PAY TO BE AT THE BUS IN GOOD TIME.
