    The DEPARTURE TIME
is established so that all participants have a clear understanding when the bus is GOING TO LEAVE. Plan on being at the Departure Point at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Please understand that the driver has no obligation to wait for anybody. As a general rule, drivers are eager to get underway, and feel an obligation to reward those who have shown enough respect for their fellow travelers to anticipate the possibility of major traffic problems, and have made the effort to leave for their departure point with plenty of time to spare.

    DINNER STOPS
River Mountain Action has a scheduled, 30 minute, no-host dinner stop in Kettleman Junction at about 6:30 to 7:00 on Friday evenings. Guests get off the bus adjacent to a Carl’s Jr., McDonalds, and Burger King. The driver generally refuels the bus while the guests dine. On the return journey, the bus will again stop at Kettleman Junction. The driver will select a location that is not already servicing another tour bus in order to expedite your return to the departure point(s).

    TRAVEL GEAR
Riding on buses is much more comfortable if you wear loose fitting clothes and comfortable shoes. We recommend you bring a small pillow onto the bus, you will appreciate later in the evening. It will also be an asset for use with your sleeping bag.

    REFRESHMENTS
River Mountain Action provides iced sodas, iced water, Chablis (white) wine and individual packages of assorted chips. Many guests choose to add to the party atmosphere by bringing mini-picnics for the consumption of their immediate group. Think in terms of brie and crackers, maybe some seedless grapes and a bottle of your favorite white wine. Red and Pink wines are fine for in camp, but are a no-no on the buses because of the potential for spillage on other guests. Modest amounts of beer are permitted, and we do put the emphasis on "modest". We do appreciate your cooperation.

    BEHAVIOR
We want everyone to enjoy their entire trip so, since 1979, we have had a behavior code on all our trips. Drinking is permitted – Rowdy behavior is not” is the rule of thumb. We seek a cocktail party atmosphere up to the dinner stop. Then we ask that the noise be restrained while the movie is on. After that, most people try to sleep in anticipation of a full days rafting on Saturday.
